| The Good:
Great little CPU. OC'd to 2900. Cool running. Cost/performance ratios make it once of the best picks for most applications. Not for heavy gamers though, as it's not unlocked like AMD's "Black Editions". Still, it works great for everything from video editing, to HTPC functions, to dual-window applications. Buy it. |
| The Squirrelly:
No cons. |
| Pro Tip:
The stock cooler that is included is more than adequate for most purposes, and does a good job. |

1. Quite fast. I mean there are faster Areca cards, but for the price it is great.
2. ESXi U3 supported. You need to go to areca website to download the drivers. There are some tricks to make it work, but nothing impossible. Other ARECA cards are supported as well.
3. Has support for event e-mailing - failed HDD, login to control website, etc. Works under Windows, no support under VMWare.
Cons: Takes time to rebuild a drive. May have compatibility issues with HDDs. I personally experienced problems with WD RE2 400gb hdds. Had to disable NSQ. Fortunatelly these drives are not produced anymore.
Overall: I'm totally satisfied. I repurposed an old backup server. Supermicro H8DAE MB, 2x 280 Opterons, 16 gb of RAM, Areca 1120 with 6 400gb WD RE2 HDDs. All needed hardware is supported under ESXi - Ethernet, Areca card, etc. I don't care about sound under VMWare. Now I have a great R&D server. |

Have had one of these for several years now with no problems whatsoever. They're lightning fast. Just bought 2 more for my 2 other PCs, because I got tired of dealing with RAID on mobo...onboard RAID gave me so many problems with corruption, etc. |

for a sata controller, this one is cheap and allows for 1U rackmount servers because of its small height. get it now before i buy em all! i have spent 2k on these and they own man its so much easier than setting up RAID on a mobo lol i love it. |

i've worked with competitors on RAID for SSD but never on an areca until I did some research. they seem to have value point entry pricing but i'm worried about driver and firmware support later when other controller companies get there's done quickly. I saw good performance for the price since areca has the price point but after support is critical or your ... |

This guy is in a class by itself. Its got a size inbetween most with an agressive price slight over 22" Its a extremely 22" on wheels cuz asus loads you with extra features with on screen menus software. What about the Contrast Ratio 20000:1 and the Pixel Pitch 0.272mm? This is a good price |

not many LCD in this price range. Asus is not known as a monitor company but adds value like the laptops. PRO Spendid & 3000 constrast - analog / digital higher resolution + speakers CON heavier and slightly wider. Also its glossy black but many folks want flat black. Asus offer more on menu software oftens which often makes asus stand out. If you use LCD out of the box without using menu options this is not for you. |
