Like another viewer said, it is enough to surf the web and do other light tasks. If you have everything else to make a system and know it's limitations, it's ok. Be aware that with a high speed internet connection, it's lack of horse power may make page rendering slower, reducing your experience. |

Old? Really old, huh?
I'd say he's maybe 12-14 years old & doesn't get much satisfaction out of life. Recently I exchanged emails with a friend 1,000 miles away. 386 desktop/pizza box, Intel 33MHz, 280meg HDD, Windows 3.1, AOL 2.5 (from a floppy copy :), 56k dial-up ISA modem. Oh, 256KB (1/4 Meg :) EISA video card, 32MB of 30 pin SIMMS memory. There are lots of PCs around, for free, that can exercise your abilities & search the web & get more satisfaction than Junior gets from his Dual Core (continued...) |

this is old....i mean REALLY OLD. in fact it is so old that finding compatible motherboard, heatsink and fan, and memory will likely cost you more as they are so old they are 'rare'. EVEN if you think you have the tightest budget...here is a better solution:
get a 1800+ from here for $33 and add a cheap skt A motherboard from newegg, get some PC2100 ram and a cheap case/psu, a cd-rw drive, floppy, and 80GB hard drive. you will have built your self a computer for:
