Only a socket 478, but still quite good for gaming. The 3.4ghz is still quite popular and the 800mhz FSB is excellent. Cache size is small by todays standards |

This was my first Intel processor and the temperatures really worried me. They were 60C at idle and 70 on load. For me, these were too high. I am suspecting that this procesosr is not very energy efficient. In terms of performance, it is quite good and edges the AMD Athlon 64 3000+. Overall, a nice inexpensive processor for basic usage. |

THis older 478 will still kick it up in some games. My old 2.4ghz 478 held its own, but was getting dated. The 3.4 has plenty of power for most users and the price is much cheaper than the 775 processors. Motherboards are available, and at a great price. Good processor for most users. it is getting older now that the dual cores are available. |
