The new 64 bit C8 runs very fast and saves lots of power with its throttle down functions.
Did have trouble finding a linux/unix compatable with new north bridge and south briidge chips.
I did experience sound driver problems..
It does run 64 bit os's just fine.
This would make an excellant server as well as a 64 bit computer system.
It out runs the atoms and beats out the C7s and the geodes.
I have it running linux gOS or centos, or mepis, or freespire and ubuntu.

I've had mien for a few days now and I'm quite happy with it. I threw two 512mb DDR2 sticks, a 160gb SATA HDD, and a nVidia 8600gt, and a broadcom 802.11b/g miniPCI card (from a broken laptop) at it, then installed the Windows 7 Beta MS released a bit back. Runs quite nice, even plays DDO with DX10 graphics enabled rather reasonably. I've been able to play (720p and 1080p) the HD video trailers at the Apple web page (most likely because of the 8600gt). I haven't tested the onboard graphics (continued...) |
