NewBiiz Launches New Micro-SATA SSDs for Laptops

SAN JOSE, Calif. - NewBiiz.com is now offering 1.8-inch Micro-SATA Solid State Drives for laptops. Super Talent Technology has chosen NewBiiz, an online retailer of PC hardware and software, to be the sole launch partner of its new line of MasterDrive KX 1.8 inch Micro-SATA SSDs.

The new Micro-SATA SSDs are considered to be an ideal upgrade for laptop users and Ultra Mobile PC (UMPC) users. The drive is 5mm thick and has a storage capacity of up to 120GB. As with all Solid State Drives, the MasterDrive KX line of SSDs have no moving parts which allows the drives to be a silent, ultra durable, lightning fast, and energy efficient solution to mobile storage.

“SSDs are substantially better than regular hard drives in almost everyway—they use less energy and produce less heat, they’re practically silent, and much faster than your typical hard drive. They can withstand a lot of shock and they have a significantly longer lifespan,” said Allen Fung, Manager of Product Marketing and Operations.

The Micro-SATA SSDs are built with MLC NAND Flash and have an access time of 0.1ms. It also boasts 120MB/sec and 40MB/sec max sequential read and write speeds.

“Not having any moving parts is a huge advantage that these SSDs have over typical notebook hard drives. For avid mobile users, this upgrade is extremely beneficial because it allows for longer battery life, and silent, cool computing, not to mention the drives are shock resistant and are blazingly fast which is tremendously useful while on-the-go,” said Fung.
